Cultivators, tools created for minimum tillage, operate mainly on the surface (10 to 25 cm) and in a single pass allow mixing, levelling and compacting the soil, keeping it moist and preparing it for future seed drilling. They were conceived for several uses and working types: from the deep and intensive depths (up to 30 cm) to the superficial ones with any kind of crop residues or the preparation of the seedbed (up to 15 cm), which makes the Alpego cultivators very versatile.
Thanks to their tilted shape, they increase the ability of mixing the soil and the crop residues on the surface.
The arrangement of the shanks in 3 rows with a centre-to-centre distance of 30 cm, together with a high ground clearance (850 mm) guarantees an exceptional working performance. The flow of the soil within the machine guarantees a good mixing of the crop residues, while preventing the formation of mounds.
The use of high resistance materials give the frame of the Cayman cultivator increased resistance to overloads, while keeping its weight rather low.
After the passage of the shanks, a set of discs with a diameter of 460 mm, levels the soils, buries the crop residues and fills in possible remaining furrows. The discs are mounted on “no grease” bearings and are adjustable through a single central crank.
Depending on the type of soil in which the machine works, it is possible to choose among different types of rear rollers with different diameters. These have the task of further crumbling and compacting the previously tilled soil and increase the stability of the machine.
Every type of soil has its own characteristics, the correct choice of the shanks to be mounted on your Alpego cultivator will improve the tilling quality in the field and will protect the integrity of the frame for years to come.
The shank body in the top-mecc version is complete with shear-bolt safety, which will be torn in the presence of an obstacle, thereby protecting the structure.
This solution decreases the total weight of the implement and makes it possible to hitch it on lightweight tractors, which is ideal when working in loose soil without stones.
The shank body in the top-spring version is complete with a double-spring safety system, which guarantees the utmost elasticity, higher stability of the machine and a wide range of uses. This solution is indispensable when tilling at high speed, even in uneven, rocky or very hard soils: in the case of an obstacle, the tine bounces up and the springs, which are pre-loaded at 700 Kg absorb the load, thereby safeguarding the frame.
The hydraulic retraction system of the “Compact” roller has been designed to make the transportation of the cultivator lighter:
1. Increased adherence on the front axle.
2. Use of low-mass tractors.
3. The advancement of the centre of gravity leads to a 40% reduction in length with a consequent reduction in transport load.
4. The retraction of the roller and the adjustment of the working depth occur through two separate hydraulic cylinders.
